Win (She/Her/Hers) is a medical graduate from Myanmar with 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry as a primary care physician and public health professional. After being forced to flee her home country in 2021 because of the Military Dictatorship, she unexpectedly became a refugee to resettle in the US. To rebuild her personal and professional life in the US, Win struggled with many unforeseen challenges on her way to getting back into her previous profession. She is now working as a Health Services Manager at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), leading a diverse team to successfully implement community health programs for refugee and immigrant communities. As she still has great enthusiasm to learn more about the US healthcare system and leadership skills, she returned to school when she arrived in the US. She is currently pursuing the Healthcare MBA program at OHSU.
She has dedicated her life to providing medical care and education in the most underserved areas of Myanmar. With great courage and determination to speak out for the democracy and human rights of the Myanmar people, she was able to continue her work despite numerous obstacles. She finally was forced out of the country due to political unrest. Win's commitment to helping those in need continues even today as she works tirelessly for the underserved population in Portland, Oregon to fulfill their needs by improving health equity and reducing health disparities. democratic leadership in healthcare advocacy
